Akkerman currently has a complete Model SLS-100 sliplining system available for purchase or rent at our facility in Brownsdale, MN. The unit was previously used on a rental project installing 48in and 66in FRP under live flow conditions. The equipment has been inspected and is in excellent condition. Project ready!

What did you do before Akkerman?
Prior to my initial employment in 2013, I was working two jobs as an auto mechanic and a cook. Before I returned in 2019, I was working as an HVAC Service Technician / Installer.
What most interested you about Akkerman?
Working for a family owned company that designs, manufactures, and supports tunneling systems used around the world is what interests me the most.

What do you like best about your position?
The variety of tasks & challenges I am assigned provide me with opportunities to learn something new and creative.

I enjoy working in such a collaborative environment. The skills and knowledge of my colleagues foster a great environment for me to develop professionally and personally.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Mountain biking, hiking, spend time with family.

What did you do before Akkerman?
I graduated from high school and was working a part time job in 2019 and was ready to find a better job that I would enjoy.
What most interested you about Akkerman?
I knew a couple who worked at Akkerman, and my dad was also working there at the time. I had no clue what I wanted to do, but after I took a tour of the facilities with Justin I knew I wanted a career as a Machinist at Akkerman.
What additional positions have you held with Akkerman?
I started by assisting with the flame table, and after a few months learned how to operate the the table on my own. After about a year I moved to the machine shop and worked there for 2 years while also operating the saws in IP.
What do you like best about your position?
I enjoy building and operating Akkermans GBM equipment and traveling to see how Akkerman takes care of our customers. I’ve been trained by a great group of people who I enjoy working with.
What do you like best about working for Akkerman?
I like the hospitality and family owned feeling of Akkerman. I enjoy the company events, parties, and other get togethers.
Do you have any interesting memories or a funny story to share?
I remember going to Houston Texas with Jay Howton and Jordan. We barely made it out of Akkerman before hitting a deer, so there were a few hiccups that trip.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to hang out with friends and family. I often practice archery or go trap shooting. I also like playing darts for fun or for league. I pretty much try to have a fun time in and outside of work.
